History[edit]

Metroid998 discovered YouTube Poop, like most people, by accident in 2007 while searching for videos of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario Bros Super Show, mainly because he remembered watching them as a kid. The first Poop he saw was MrSimon's "ROBOTNIK WANTS KFC" and quickly fell in love with it. He found the concept of Poop to be odd but very amusing and has been a big fan of the medium ever since. It would take a year before Metroid998 "acquired" a copy of Sony Vegas to make videos with as using WMM to make Poops with was frowned upon at the time. Years later however, he would experiment with WMM regardless and proved what can be done when you push old software to its absolute limits. Metroid998 would make a splash in the Tennis scene soon after joining YouChew in 2008 and has been playing ever since, participating in 9 different tennis tournaments and completing over 50 matches, making him one of the oldest and still active tennis players in YouTube Poop history. Metroid998 is also a member of the Café Staff, having replaced TheChutley in 2016.

Metroid998's style can be considered 'old-school', yet modern as he continues to experiment and change things at the drop of a hat. His approach is very experimental with an emphasis on visual juxtaposition, ambient erosion, video layering and he also has a tendency to utilise music a lot.

Metroid998 has been quietly well-received for his work, especially within the Tennis community where he has garnered much respect. He considers himself still pretty "unknown" for the most part though and doesn't really go out of his way to seek attention.
