YouChew Writing Staff
YouChewPoop's front page has many news articles on it, which is contributed by many news writers such as RideTheCatfish. The current Editor-in-Chief of the YCP News Office is the forum moderator RabbitSnore.
Writing for the front page is a great way to express creativity and spread attention about Youtube Poopers you find are cool. Your articles can also benefit the audience - such as motivating them to create good Youtube Poops, and noting whether a certain video game or movie is good or not. So writing for the YouChewPoop front page is a win-win situation!
How to write for the front page
To apply for a slot on the front page, private message one of the senior News Staff Members or RabbitSnore a sample of one of your articles to be posted on the front page and also tell them what you want to do for the News Office, and they'll probably let you know if they has accepted your article or not. Please note that the YouChewPoop staff is likely to be busy, so they probably may not reply right away. Also note that they have the authority to reject your work or request more writing samples from you.
If you have had an article posted on the front page, then congratulations! Use this news template on your Chewiki page to note that you have written at least one article. However, if you've made one that is very epic, or made at least five; instead use this one for your page.
What are you waiting for?! Grab that pencil and get to work!
Tips
- CREATIVITY. One of the most important tips. Creativity makes the world go around! Or...at least we think it does. Harrison Ford definitely doesn't, that's for sure. He is pretty powerful though.
- Brainstorm. Brainstorming can help you think of an article to write about and what details to put in it, but it can also help enhance your future creativity.
- Try to make a fairly long article. Not too long though, and the longer it is; the more exciting and entertaining it needs to be. Here's a helpful word of advice: If your article is so long we need to get 42 extra servers to store it all, it's probably too long.
- Make it witty and humorous. And don't try to imitate Chris Bores' humor, because 85% of the time you'll fail. A small amount of comedy alongside the information of your article will probably make viewers glad that they read your article.
- Try to avoid swearing. While swearing is allowed on YouChewPoop, not using them in your article can make it seem more mature; and make it appeal to a slightly wider audience.
- Use descriptive language. News Articles are a bit like stories. You didn't think we were robots who were lifeless and used dry expression in our writings, didn't you?
- Make it relevant. Game reviews should be written with current trends in mind, and with knowledge of what players like in a video game these days - and with source reviews, you should consider what's popular in Youtube Pooping these days; be it sentence-mixing or special effects. Make your articles appeal to what the audience is interested in these days. Unless what the audience's interested in is porn - in that case, appeal to something more legal.
- Make sure to have fun while doing it, since the tone of your article can be significantly dependent on your mood. In addition, if you're bored while writing articles, then you may lose the motivation to continue on. And we don't want that, don't we?
