Games
- Super Mario Kart (1992, SNES): The first of the Mario Kart series. The game used Nintendo's Mode 7 technology.
- Mario Kart 64 (1997, N64): The second Mario Kart game. Unlike its predecessor, the levels were rendered in full 3D polygons, though the characters were still sprites.
- Mario Kart: Super Circuit (2001, GBA): The third game in the series, and the first handheld version. Was more like Super Mario Kart in the sense that the game used the Mode 7 technology instead of polygons. Also features tracks from Super Mario Kart.
- Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (2003, GCN): The 4th game in the series. It was the first game in the series to rely solely on 3D instead of sprites, and was also the only game where 2 characters could be used at once. It also allowed LAN play.
- Mario Kart DS (2005, DS): The 5th game in the series, and the 2nd handheld game. Was the first Mario Kart game to have official online play. Was also infamous for the act of snaking, where mini-turbos from drifting were abused.
- Mario Kart Arcade GP (2005, Arcade): The first of the 2 arcade Mario Kart games, and the 6th overall. The machines featured a camera for taking pictures of the player, and some machines offered a magnetic card for saving data. And Pac-Man. Can't forget him.
- Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 (2007, Arcade): The second of the 2 arcade Mario Kart games, and the 7th overall. Basically, it's more of the same here, except for the fact that there's Pac-Man characters and a Tamagatchi character.
- Mario Kart Wii (2008, Wii): The 8th game overall, and the most recent to date. Offered control with the Wii wheel in addition to the Gamecube controller. Like Mario Kart DS, it offered online play. Unlike Mario Kart DS, snaking was made more difficult, to prevent its exploitation.
- Mario Kart 3DS (2011, 3DS): The 9th overall game that will be coming out in the near future. Nothing too much has been revealed except for the 3-D that's found and the fact that one of the courses is also found in Wii Sports Resort.
Usage in YouTube Poop
Various Mario Kart games have been used in YouTube Poop, and in various ways, ranging from charaters playing Mario Kart, to flash poops based on Mario Kart featuring various YouTube Poop characters.
