Description
Robots that turn into cars, air planes, animals, and alien technology battle each other. There are always two fractions of them, the Autobots and Decepticons, though in Beast Wars, there were Maximals and Predacons, who battle for either war or peace. Their battle extends from their home planet of Cybertron to Earth.

- Despite the fact that there are female and child Transformers, Devastator is the only Transformer with a scrotum.
- Transformers has actually had a pretty all-star cast. Case in point: Orson Welles, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle, "Weird Al" Yankovic (who performed the song Dare to be Stupid in the G1 movie in addition to voicing the Transformers Animated incarnation of Wreck-Gar), Megan Fox, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, and Scatman Crothers have appeared in the franchise at one point or another. In particular, the Transformers 1980's movie was the final role for both Scatman Crothers and Orson Welles. Not bad for a toy commercial.
- Optimus Prime and Megatron appeared in the GameCube fighting game DreamMix TV: World Fighters, which also included Solid Snake, Simon Belmont and Bomberman (among others) in its playable roster.
