Tokyo [東京] is a metropolis in Japan, located on Tokyo Bay, that is known for technology (especially in Akihabara), fashion (mostly Shibuya), drunk salarymen, loads of trains, and as the capital city and location of the Imperial castle, in addition to being the most populated city in Japan.

- Is part of the largest metropolitan area in the world, combined with Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba prefectures.
- Has several of the busiest train stations in the world, including the busiest, which is Shinjuku station.
- Speaking of trains, the trains are internationally renowned for extreme punctuality.
- Has a rivalry with Osaka, especially in baseball. In fact, the Yomiuri Giants-Hanshin Tigers rivalry is as intense as the New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox rivalry.
- In fact, Tokyo has 2 teams within Tokyo proper: the Yomiuri Giants, and the Yakult Swallows.
- Is a victim of wildly unrealistic "theme park" portrayals in fiction, much like other international cities.
