Mama Luigi! is a hugely popular television series that initally ran on the NBC network from 1989 until 1996. It later ran in reruns on PAX TV (now ION Television) from 1998 until 2000.
The series followed the form of Luigi known as Mama Luigi, along with his brother Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Toadstool, on his various misadventures. Cameo appearances were made by the Angry Nintendo Nerd, a very vague impersonation of Hitler (whom Mama Luigi later defeated with the help of Daffy Duck), and the Candy Shop Owner.

Some sources incorrectly claim that Princess Sally appeared on the show, but due to Nintendo and SEGA being retards towards each other until 2001 (and the fateful day which included Johnny on the left-hand side blasting Ryan away with an AK-47 or other similar gun on the top of several New York buildings...Johnny unfortunately missed...twice), this could not have been so.
Despite the show's long run, affiliates such as WNBC, KNBC, WMAQ, WTVJ, KPRC, WPTV, WAVY, and KVLY started to pull the show due to controversy over the show's racial content. (Or so they say...it was probably because they couldn't stand any more of that green-overalled character!) NBC later moved the show to PAX TV, which they had a minority share in.
The show was seen for a short time on the PAX digital feed when PAX changed its name to i in 2005. However, that feed was replaced with qubo, owned by the parent companies of NBC and ION Television as well as three other entities: Too Cool for Scholastic Craporation, Horrorus Entertainment, and the Bad Idea unit of WetdreamWorks Suckics.
The intro inspired the opening to the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, containing several archived clips from random sources (such as Keeping Up Appearances, Gina D's Kids Club and a commercial for web portal Lycos). Post-1993, the theme song to the show is the song "Friend Like Me" from the Disney film Aladdin. NBC obtained permission from Walt Disney Records to utilize the song as Mama Luigi!'s theme song.
In 1994, NextG Entertainment announced the development of Mama Luigi!: The Movie. It was first released on August 30, 1994, and had its first trailer released on the first episode of NextG Poop, "Free to Be...", almost 13 years later, which led it to be an initial box office bomb, but later become a sleeper hit. In the movie, the Mario Brothers performed jokes and interviews at a comedy club, and featured guest appearances like Kevin MacLeod and Hyacinth Bucket.
