The '70s were the funky decade situated between the '60s and the '80s. While to some, the '70s are fondly remembered as "the prime of their dating years", others are bitter against the decade, since they are now in their 50s or 60s (even though they were in their 20s in the '70s).
In the '70s, all the funky young people loved disco. Then they hated it just as quickly as they loved it. Everybody used the words "groovy" and "shagadelic", but now anybody who says that will be punched in the face. Everybody also wore funky tight threads and had shagadelic grotesque afros.
In reality, many people were out of a job, and many industrial plants had closed. Steel mills, automotive plants, you name it.
The '70s were notable for cosmic things like Star Wars, Rocky, disco, KISS, muscle cars, and various other funky things.
