Atari was created in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney.they were the creators of pong and then the Atari 2600.they were the pioneers of the video game market.
in 1982 they created the swordquest games as a part of a contest to win a Talisman that was made of 18K solid gold,The Chalice witch was made of gold and platinum and was adorned with citrines, diamonds, green jade, pearls, rubies, and sapphires,the "Crown of Life," which was made of gold and encrusted with aquamarines, diamonds, green tourmalines, rubies, and sapphires and a "Philosopher's Stone," which in this case was a large chunk of white jade in an 18K gold box encrusted with diamonds, emeralds, citrines, and rubies.The prizes were valued up to 25,000$ dollars.the games were Earthworld,Fireworld,Waterworld and airworld(which was never released). The winner of Fireworld was Michael Rideout.The winner of Earthworld was Steven Bell.The Crown of life DOES exist but it is still unknown were it is.only 2 of the 4 prizes were released because of Atari's money issue and the video game crash of 1983.
The video game crash of 1983 was not caused by Atari but it was caused by a amount of shitty games like E.T and Pac-man.but E.T was one of the main causes,it was so bad that it was buried in a Texas landfill.
