• Note: Colonel Sanders placed a curse on the Hanshin Tigers because Tigers fans stole his statue from a nearby Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1985 and threw it in the river. The reason why is because fans resembling each of the players on the team would jump into the river in Osaka as a way of celebrating, and there wasn't a fan that looked like their single American player. The statue, though, did resemble the American, so they threw it in. As of 2014, they still have yet to win the Japan Series, appearing in, but losing to, the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks in the 2014 series.
