B Movies are low budget films with limited releases, such as '50s and '60s American sci-fi and horror films, or Japanese kaiju and tokusatsu films. The name comes from the fact that, back in the '50s and earlier, double features were commonplace, and these films were often the second film, or "B Movie", whereas, in contrast, an "A Movie" would be a big Hollywood hit.
Kaiju refers to Japanese giant monster films like Godzilla and tokusatsu refers to Japanese childrens shows in the 1970s that featured kaiju.
