The '50s were the peachy keen decade situated between the '40s and the '60s. In the '50s, under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, all the cool cats were World War II veterans that had normal jobs and wore suits and fedoras, and, upon walking in to their swell suburban homes, announced their return home to their families, while their hip teens hung out at the drive-in, dressed in leather jackets and poodle skirts while dancing to Elvis Presley and Chubby Checker.

- In the '50s, American cars were long, steel, chrome-clad beasts, where sleek, Jetsons-esque styling was normal, and a V8 was the standard. And that was a family car.
- Back then, space-age architecture was also popular, as well as space influences themselves. This type of architecture was called "Googie".
- In the '50s, every household had a single television set in their living room, which the family would watch together every night.
- In 1951, while out for a walk, a baby landed on Yoshi's back. Eventually, Yoshi and his friends would rescue the baby's brother, and rescue the stork originally tasked with delivering them to their parents.
- Joseph Stalin and Albert Einstein were among those that died in the '50s.
- The '50s were the decade that saw the first prominent usage of transistors (in applications such as radios), and also the invention of integrated circuits, the basis of future technology, daddy-o.
- As a matter of fact, all sorts of technological and scientific breakthroughs came from the '50s. Goodbye, polio, hello integrated circuits!
- In reality, the way the '50s are commonly viewed can vary. The entertainment of the era can still be remembered fondly, but the fixation on those dern commies was not so great.
- I heard you on the wireless back in '52...
