Mushrooms are fungi that feed off of decomposed plants. You can often see them in grassy, wet areas with a lot of dead leaves. Eat only the mushrooms you find a stores, not in the wild, unless it is a morel or some types of puffball. Some edible Mushrooms are used by Chefs for certain foods. In the United States, the commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the leading mushroom producer, producing about 65% of American mushrooms, with mushroom production centralized in Kennett Square.
