He was also a playable character in Super Mario Bros. 2/USA, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, as well as a character in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, though is usually an NPC.

Trivia
- Always fails at protecting the Princess, due to his insistence on running around screaming, instead of actually trying to protect her.
- Though, somehow, he has not yet been fired for his constant failure.
- He can be used by Princess Toadstool to counter opponent's moves in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl.
- He is hated by nearly all gamers of the '80s, almost as much as the dog from Duck Hunt.
- Has sued Dr. Mario many times for malpractice. However, he has never won these lawsuits.
- Wears a diaper.
- He sometimes removes the top of his head, revealing only one hair.
- He tells you that the Princess is in another castle, but won't tell you which one. What an asshole.
- He's the best! YAHOO!!!
