RobotnikIsm.png This article describes a recognised Poopism: a method of video editing that has been used by a number of poopers.

A Sparta Remix is a YTMND fad, produced in February 2007. It featured King Leonidas stuttering to some music. Hundreds of spin-offs and responses were made. Despite its similarity to YTPMVs, it did not originate in YouTube Poop and it's often considerd to be a Poop Fad by mistake, mostly because some earlier poopers participated in the fad.

Origin[edit]

The original Sparta Remix was created by keatonkeaton999 and uploaded to YTMND on February 19, 2007. Beforehand, he had made various "fun times remixes" of scenes from pop culture, like "How's It Hanging McFly?" and "Hypergonomical Grabulation". A video was uploaded to Youtube on May 24, 2007 by TownIdiot25, who saw the original song posted by keaton on a forum, asking someone to make a video for it. TownIdiot made most of the GIFs in the video himself. An improved version, titled "This is Sparta! ~Another Techno Remix~" was uploaded on June 13, 2007, and became the most well-known version of the song, achieving over 30 million views. TownIdiot25 has since been banned from Youtube for copyright issues on his other videos.

The first Sparta Remix spinoff was actually made by keatonkeaton999 himself, and based on the "Dental Plan" scene from The Simpsons. It was uploaded to YTMND on May 9, 2007. The fad took off once he uploaded the original "Fun Times Mix" backing track as an MP3 to his website, as well as on YTMND itself. Most Sparta Remixes used keatonkeaton's original 1-minute version of the instrumental, instead of the later extended version used in TownIdiot's upload.

Current Status[edit]

Today the fad is considered to be dead, yet some people still make these today. It is usually associated with Spadinner pooping.

keatonkeaton999 is still out there creating stuff and working as a film editor and workshop instructor.
