Description

Bionicle is a series of products by Lego that has its own original story that was told through various forms of multimedia including video games, flash animations, movies, comics, and more. It became one of Lego's most popular and most sold line products, also saving the company from its financial crisis in the late nineties.

Characters

The Toa: The main heroes of Bionicle, they have elemental powers that are organized by color (IE: Blue is water, White is Ice, Red is Fire, etc.) along with 'Kanohi Masks' that give them all sorts of powers such as X-Ray vision and Energy Shields. For the first generation, there have been three lines of Toa, all of which have been reconfigured for new parts of the Bionicle Storyline. The current generation of Toa are revamps of the original line of Toa who are known as 'Elemental Masters'.

Films

  • Bionicle: Mask Of Light. - In which two Matoran make an epic journey around the island of Mata Nui with the help of the Toa Nuva.
  • Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui. - A prequel to the events of the first movie as well as the events on Mata Nui story wise. Has some back stories behind the Turaga as well as how everyone ended up on the island of Mata Nui in the first place.
  • Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows. - A weird continuation of the events mentioned above, also explains how the Toa Metru got all of the matoran to Mata Nui, which was unexplained in the previous film.
  • Bionicle 4: The Legend Reborn. - The last movie of Generation 1 as well as the movie that would also lead up to the events that would lead to the end of Gen-1's storyline.

Video Games

  • BIONICLE: Quest for the Toa. - A Gameboy Advance game where you play as Takua, leads up to the events that brought the Toa to the Island of Mata Nui.
  • BIONICLE: Matoan Adventures - A Gameboy Advance game where you play as the Matoran, fight the Bohrak and other Rahi.
  • BIONICLE: The Game - Based off the Mask Of Light Movie. You play as the Toa during the events of the Bohrak War and then play as the Toa Nuva leading up to the events of Mask Of Light. This is the first game to actually be released on consoles and/or PCs.
  • BIONICLE: Maze Of Shadows - A Gameboy Advance game where you play as the Toa Metru, based off the book by Greg Farshty.
  • BIONICLE: Heroes - A game for PC, Consoles, Mobile Phones, Gameboy Advance, and the Nintendo DS where you play as the Toa Inika and battle against the Barraki and various other enemies from previous parts of the Bionicle Lore such as the Bohrak and the Visorak. The gameplay and story differ between the ones for Mobile Phones, GBA, DS, and Consoles/PCs. The latter of which has some pretty humorous or interesting cutscenes/cinematics.

  • BIONICLE: Mask Of Creation, the first game for Generation 2 available on Mobile Phones. You play as the Toa and fight waves of Skull Spiders.
