The '50s were the peachy keen decade situated between the '40s and the '60s. In the '50s, under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, all the cool cats were World War II veterans that had normal jobs and wore suits and fedoras, and, upon walking in to their swell suburban homes, announced their return home to their families, while their hip teens hung out at the drive-in, dressed in leather jackets and poodle skirts while dancing to Elvis Presley and Chubby Checker.
