Hurricoaster
In brief[edit]
Hurricoaster is a YTPer primarily known for his SpongeBob poops. Early in his career, Hurricoaster gained considerable popularity with meme-based Spongebob YTPs, but later changed his style to more effects-based poops. These later edits received critical acclaim and were a source of inspiration for many rising SpongeBob YTP artists.
History[edit]
Here is a quote from Hurricoaster's defunct website which sums up his early history:
"...I joined YouTube on March 27, 2009. When I first made my account, I had no intention of making Youtube Poops. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know what they were. During the first few days of having my account, I uploaded some videos that were mainly recorded with my digital camera. Most of those videos I have deleted long ago. At the time, I was interested in roller coasters, as I am now (hence the name Hurricoaster, hurricane-coaster). I mainly recorded my RCT3 videos and posted them. They never gained popularity, although they would have been better if it hadn't been for copyright issues with the songs I used. Later on, I found the program NoLimits, which I still use today. NoLimits is probably the best roller coaster simulation program there is. Later on, I found Super Mario Flash. I made some of the best levels out there, especially my hold-right one.
Most of my subscribers came from my Youtube Poops. That mainly came from my interest in the edited spongebob episodes that I saw on Youtube. I set out to make my own. Before long, I came out with "SpongeBob SquarePants Scenes - Censored." This became my most popular video for a while. I made more and more, but I was tired of the simple censoring. I wanted to use more effects, because without them it seemed too limited. I watched many Youtube Poops online, and I had absolutely no idea what they were. But, they were funny as heck. So I tried making one myself, producing Shamwow Patties. It struck. People loved it, but it still wasn't getting that many views.
On November 9, 2009, I started the production of "The Sky Had a Weegee." This is my most popular video currently, with 138,000 views. When I posted it, I was shocked to find out that it was on the front page of Youtube Poop. With only 15,000 views, it was stuck permanently on the first page. I got 1000+ views a day, and that's what sparked Hurricoaster's popularity." (End of Hurricoaster's website info)
After this, Hurricoaster uploaded a YTP titled "The Haunted Hotel of Weegee". Months afterwards in Summer of 2010, this caused trouble for him, when a part of a troll group created a fraudulent DMCA copyright complaint against the video. This caused Hurricoaster's account to be suspended for a short period of time. During this time, he encountered TheKrabster on his DaKrabster account, who criticized him and SpongeWithGuns heavily for using memes. TheKrabster instructed Hurricoaster how to use Vegas 9.0 pro, including techniques such as masking, color curves, and chroma keyer. After learning these new techniques, Hurricoaster decided that he was done with the spa-dinner style YTPs and after the recovery of his account, months later, he uploaded the YTP "It's Rip Snortin' Time", which contained sensory abuse and many subtle visual gags that has come to define his modern style. Since then, he's enjoyed being one of the most subscribed YTPers on Youtube and occasionally helps people hit fame in YTP.
In July 2013, Hurricoaster announced that he would be making a new YTP. He announced this in a comment on It's Rip Snortin' Time!. Hurricoaster said, Just an update. I will be releasing another YTP this summer. It won't be a part two of this video, but a new video on its own. I promise it will be as good, if not better, than Rip Snortin' Time. It is already 25% done. He then posted a clip from his YTP, called AAAH!!! on July 24th.
On August 14th, Hurricoaster uploaded his new YTP, a sequel to Rip Snortin' Time. In the first 4 days of its upload, it received 10,000 views.
