Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing is a series of Nintendo life simulation games where you reside in a town filled with cutesy animal neighbors. You can partake in numerous activities around town, such as decorating your house, catching bugs, and befriending your neighbors.
Description[edit]
The first game in the series was Animal Forest on the Nintendo 64, which was only released in Japan. This was later ported to the Nintendo GameCube in Japan, which was later released in the United States and soon enough saw Animal Crossing established as one of Nintendo's flagship franchises. Every Nintendo console since has had at least one Animal Crossing game (ranging in quality from the 3DS's fantastic New Leaf to the Wii U's dreadful Amiibo Festival).
The series also has a Japan-exclusive anime movie, revolving around a little girl named Ai (which means love, which this movie is full of) who moves into Animal Town and meets all her new friends, like Rosie and an elephant nobody can remember the name of. Together they go on an adventure of self discovery, fossils, climbing to ungodly heights by being amazing, being a fashion designer, talking about cherry pies a lot, and even encountering aliens.
There is no terrible secret surrounding the game. Everything is perfectly fine.

- You - A boy/girl who hoped to find a new place to live.
- Tom Nook - A raccoon who has sales every day and gives you a house to pay off. Though characterized by many as an evil penny pincher, the fact he gives you no time frame on paying your house off is a steal.
- Totakeke/K.K. Slider - A singing dog with a guitar who shows up every Saturday at the train station or at The Roost.
- Isabelle - A ditzy dog secretary who has superseded earlier characters like Nook and Slider to become the practical series mascot.
- Digby - Isabelle's twin brother who handles the Happy Home Showcase.
- Blathers - A sleepy, entomophobic owl who runs the museum.
- Celeste - Blathers' sister; she specializes in astronomy.
- Brewster - A pigeon who runs The Roost, a coffee shop at the museum.
- Tortimer - The mayor of town (except in New Leaf, where he has retired to Tortimer Island). He likes holidays and dressing up like an acorn.
- Pelly - A cheerful pelican who runs town hall.
- Phyllis - Pelly's sister, she's cranky and runs town hall at night.
- Pete - The mailman. He can be shot down with your slingshot when he delivers the mail at 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Gracie - A fashion-loving giraffe who owns a car.
- Blanca - A cat with no face. Please draw your favorite Street Fighter's face.
- Copper - A dog who runs the police office, and later gets promoted to guard.
- Booker - Copper's partner, he's prone to forgetting things.
- Pave - A flamboyant peacock who gives you furniture if you play games with other neighbours.
- Zipper T. Bunny - A creepy bunny who shows up on
EasterBunny Day. - Jingle - A reindeer who delivers presents on Toy Day.
- Cyrus - A blue handyman alpaca who can refashion your furniture to different colors or designs.
- Reese - A pink alpaca and wife to Cyrus. At the pair's store Re-Tail, she will take inventory off your hands for better deals than the Nook stores offer.
- Mabel - A blue hedgehog who runs the tailor.
- Sable - Mabel's sister, she's less outgoing than Mabel.
- Labelle - Works for Gracie in the city.
- Redd - A fox who runs a black market. He also hates Nook.
- Kicks - A skunk who shines your shoes if you pay him well enough.
- Katrina - The fortuneteller who shows up every week. She also owns the Triforce of Hurricanes.
- Harriet - A poodle who can give you a new hairstyle every day. In later games, she can also make you look like a Mii.
- Wendell - Hungry walrus who can give you new designs if you feed him fish. He can even eat furniture or butterflies.
- Saharah - Named after the African desert, she gives you wallpaper and flooring to deliver. You can keep some of her designs if you help her out.
- Rover - A cat you meet on the train or on the bus at the start of the game. In the DS game, he appears in the Tag mode, only appearing in the main game as a cameo at The Roost.

water impparrotsea turtlekappa who tells salty tales of the sea. In some games, he owns a boat which he can take you to an island with while singing sea shanties. In others, he owns a taxi or bus that takes you to your new home. - Mr. Resetti - A mole who gets angry if you don't save. Saving is important, but the things he rants about are too damn hilarious.
- Don Resetti - Mr. Resetti's relaxed brother. He still tells you to save though.

- Nook, Resetti and K.K. appeared as trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee. They were kept in the English release, but because at the time, Animal Crossing was unavailable outside Japan, they were marked as being from a "Future Release". K.K. kept his original name of "Totakeke" on his trophy. In Brawl, Animal Crossing had been more popular worldwide, and had three pages of trophies, a stage, and an Assist Trophy (Mr. Resetti). It still lacked a playable character, as Sakurai felt the serenity of the series did not gel well with a fighting game.
- Sakurai later changed his mind and made the player character of Animal Crossing (now christened "Villager") playable in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Isabelle followed suit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- Animal Crossing: Wild World was one of the first video games ever to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, along with Tony Hawk's American Sk8land and Mario Kart DS.
