A program created by Bill Gates just to fill up space, as an excuse to remove Reversi. There are several websites dedicated to figuring out HOW and WHY it glitches so much, and many people think it is because of using non-Microsoft video formats such as AVI and MPG but some argue that the codecs play a part of the crashing. However in Windows 7, WMM has been replaced by a successor video-editing program that isn't as good for Youtube Pooping; so people have changed to Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere, but at least there hopefully won't be many crashes anymore...
On the other hand, some people find a certain amount of nostalgia for the program, flawed as it is. The Windows Vista version contains major updates and is much more competent than the more-commonly-used XP version, even though it still lacks reverse.
Advantages
- Free with Windows Me, XP or Vista
- Fairly simple to use
- Extra video plugins can be downloaded to rival Vegas
Disadvantages
- Needs patience of a saint since it is VERY crash prone.
- Video reversing is extreme hard to do requiring cutting up clips to the smallest and puttting them backwards, compared to a single button of the other programs. This did, however, start the stutter reverse.
- No unlimited video or audio tracks.
- No audio effects in storyboard, Audicity has to be used in this case.
- No audio in frame-by-frame.
Known WMM poopers
While many use WMM then move to a different program (including SuperYoshi, there are the few that stick to it and can rival many poopers who use the other programs. In fact, some still use WMM even when they have something better like Sony Vegas.
