A 1998-1999 Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon produced by DiC. Sonic Underground had some of the same storyline as SatAM. This is due to that a couple of the writers of that show were involved on this. The show ran for only one season. However, it was stated that 65 episodes were originally going to be made, but only 40 episodes were aired. Robotnik takes over Mobius also hiring Sleet and Dingo which then someone has to stop him. The queen has to give up her children because she fears they may be captured by Robotnik. She gives them to 3 other people, and runs off, hiding.
Sonic later finds out he has a brother and sister (named Manic and Sonia, which surprising, was also voiced by Jaleel White), and it is his quest to stop Robotnik. After playing his "Song from the Heart", they meet up. Uncle Chuck returns in this, not roboticized.
This was the only one of the three Sonic cartoons produced by DiC to feature Knuckles, however doesn't feature Tails. It is considered by many people to be one of the worst Sonic cartoons ever produced due to how thin its resemblance to the games is. The next Sonic series, Sonic X would be much closer to the games... well, from the second season onwards, anyway.
The first Sonic Underground poop was made by Deepercutt, which some might believe is the reason why he was even famous in the first place.
