The Star Fox series is a series of space combat games that stars the Star Fox team, who are trying to stop Andross' evil deeds.
The original game was praised for its innovation with 3D polygons, as well as its fun gameplay, while the N64 game was praised for the same great gameplay, as well as actual voice acting and a bunch of amazing crap.
There was also an unreleased Star Fox 2 for Super Famicom/SNES.
