Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie (aka Sonic Anime in some circles) was a movie created by Sega around 1996. It was a two part OVA, the first part having Robotnik tell how Metal Robotnik took over the Land of Darkness, and the second part revolving around the fight between Sonic and Hyper Metal Sonic. Was first used by RetroJape, followed by MrDrunkenFox, and some other people.

Media Infomation

• "Sonic the Movie" is actually a two-part direct-to-video animation released in Japan, chronicling Sonic's adventures to stop Eggman and his evil robot, known as "Hyper Metal Sonic". The English release was dubbed by ADV Films and the two parts were merged together and called a "movie". Its English release was also timed to tie in with the Sonic Adventure game and the (then new) Sega Dreamcast.
