We Wish You a Turtle Christmas is a 1994 direct-to-video live action Christmas special based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. The special is notorious for the subpar costumes given to the main cast, as well as its poorly written and choreographed musical numbers. It was notably brought to light by the Angry Video Game Nerd and later Obscurus Lupa.
Plot[edit]
The four turtles (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael) are preparing for Christmas morning and have purchased gifts for everyone except for their master Splinter, and they immediately leave the sewer (without wearing disguises as they usually do in the cartoon) as they "GOTTA GET A GIFT-GOTTA GET A GIFT-GOTTA GET A GIFT" for Splinter before all the stores close. However, their new-found tendency to suddenly break out into song (most notably Michelangelo's 2-minute opera) serve as a major hindrance. They do manage to get Splinter quite a lot of gifts including video games, yo-yos, TMNT comic books, and a plastic pizza in a frame. On Christmas morning, Splinter is pleased with the turtles' generosity and proceeds to sing a variation of the "12 Days of Christmas" song, highlighting all of the gifts he received. Afterwards, he reminds them that Christmas is also about being charitable to the less-fortunate and spending time with friends and family. To conclude the special, the entire cast wishes the audience a Merry "Turtle Christmas".
During the credits, the four turtles discuss their favorite songs from the special.
