Yoshi is a green, fat lizard (or dinosaur if you prefer). He is known for his obsession of worms, and getting fat instantly upon consumption of food. He is a Master Chef and also owns a drugstore with his newest medication, Bad Medicine, sold there.
Background
Yoshi (ヨッシー, pronounced Yo-she in America and the Mario Bros., Yosh-e in Europe and from himself) was born on February 12, 1947 in Ebara ward (now part of Shinagawa City), Tokyo prefecture, Japan, and currently lives in Dinosaur Land, Kagoshima prefecture, Japan, since 1948.
In 1951, while out for a walk, a baby landed on his back. Along with his friends, he helped the baby and his brother get to their parents.
In 1963, the Super Happy Tree was stolen from the Yoshies by Bowser, causing them all to fall in to a state of depression, and turning Yoshi's Island in to a storybook world. Luckily, they were rescued from this by new hatchlings, who retrieved the Super Happy Tree, beat Bowser, and saved the Yoshies. In 1975, Yoshi also completed his Doctorate in Culinary Arts at the Westminster University School of Hospitality in central London, England, UK, becoming a master chef.
In 1977, Bowser took over the island and hypnotised Yoshi's friends in to fighting him with panels. Yoshi freed his friends and his island and crushed Bowser with garbage blocks made from the panels.
In 1989, Yoshi was captured by Bowser and forced inside an egg. He was freed from the egg, though, by Mario and Luigi, who were trying to rescue the Princess after she was captured while on vacation. Unfortunately, during their journey, Luigi made contact with Anti-Uctions, becoming Mama Luigi, who eventually tried using her evil magic to de-age him and erase his memory, so that she could fullfil her desire to be a mother (which failed due to lawsuits).
In 1991, Yoshi, along with Mario, opened-up a cookie bakery. In 1994, he married Birdo and they had a child; Yoshi Jr, a yellow Yoshi hatchling.
Trivia
- Owns a drug store that sells Bad Medicine.
- Also owns the rights to a restaurant in Ludwig's Thump Castle Hotel, which he also supervises the cooking operations of as the Head Chef.
- Is a member of the NRA, and loves shooting things, especially Mama Luigi (He even has targets of Mama Luigi in his basement.).
- Is an expert at licking ladies for sexual pleasure. In fact, many bitches want him not only because of his kawaii nature, but also for his really special tongue.
- It is confirmed that he will be a playable character in Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. Not big surprrise.
- One time, he was a ninja that helped out the poor.
- He doesn't take too kindly on Solid Snake's suggestion on eating him.
- However, he doesn't mind eating Snake himself. Yay?
- Yoshi has a tumor on his back a.k.a. a saddle for Mario.
- Once went Turbo and hid inside Diddy Kong Racing DS. His voice clips can still be found in the data of the game.
- It is said that the Pokemon Snivy resembles Yoshi greatly. In fact, in fan art, some people like to make note of this, sometimes adding features of Yoshi (i.e. his saddle shell) to Snivy.
- Possesses the Millennium Star, a star formed only once every thousand years, thus making him the Superstar of the Universe, according to legend.
- One time, when driving a truck full of cookies, Kamek cast a spell on Yoshi's truck, removing him from the truck, causing it to become a runaway, and also spiking the cookies. In response, Yoshi called the Blast Corps team, who destroyed the truck.
- And speaking of cookies, Yoshi also sometimes gives lectures demonstrating how to make cookies. Unfortunately, he only gives these lectures in Japanese.
- A crater on the Moon is named after him.
- Once chewed someone's ass, and thought it was delicious.

As of Sunday December 16, 2007, Yoshi started a group of people that were against The Princess and wanted complete power of the Mushroom Kingdom and Dino World. This is known as the Yoshi regime. The following people are official members of the regime:

The regime is attempting to have The Princess overthrown for reasons as follows:

If this overthrow proves successful, Yoshi will assume control of the Mushroom Kingdom as its Emperor, with King Koopa as Prime Minster. Mario, Gay Luigi, Tails and Zelda remain neutral of the situation. Local opposition include: Fat Mario, Mama Luigi, Link, Sonic and The King.
