Top Gun is an '80s movie featuring [[War|dogfights]] and [[Gay|homoerotic]] beach volleyball. Its tie-in [[Nintendo Entertainment System|NES]] game was reviewed by the [[Angry Video Game Nerd]], and is one of his most famous reviews.

==Movie==

[[Two]] [[Communists|enemy MiG-28s]] are close-by, so F-14 Tomcats are sent after them. One enemy pilot is afterward scared shitless after being locked-on, and flees. The other enemy pilot then [[V of Doom|scares the shit]] out of one of the American pilots after locking on to him with missiles, then is given the middle finger by Tom Cruise (who is one of the pilots, and is flying inverted above him), eventually fleeing. Tom Cruise and his RIO/[[Gay|Butt-buddy]], Goose, are then sent to Top Gun in [[California|San Diego]]. Later, Goose [[die]]s, and Tom Cruise becomes [[emo]], though still eventually graduating from Top Gun. The movie ends with Tom Cruise killing [[Communists|enemy planes]], becoming a hero, and becoming an instructor at Top Gun.

==Game==
The whole point of the game is to shoot enemy planes, ships, and a space shuttle. It is impossible to land, though.

The game is notable for the AVGN's review of it. In the review, the AVGN tried to beat the game. Unfortunately, he kept fucking-up the landing, and [[die]]d. Since he couldn't beat the game, he just made-up the 3rd and [[4]]th levels.

*A [[Starscream]] toy makes a cameo, in the hands of Goose's son. Seeing as how he's an F-15, this is actually <s>pretty</s> almost fitting.
*Is also known for its soundtrack, containing, the Top Gun anthem, Highway to the Danger Zone, Mighty Wings, You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling, and others.
*3 Navy F-14 Tomcat squadrons made appearance in the movie: VF-51 "[[Soldier|Screaming Eagles]]", VF-114 "[[Blue Aardvark|Aardvarks]]", and VF-213 "Black Lions".
*The MiG-28 is actually an imaginary plane, played by an F-5 in the movie, and meant to be an analogue of the [[Soviet Union|MiG-29]].
