| − | The show was bizarre and abstract, with all characters making distinctive noises rather than actual dialogue (such as Tidyup's strange moaning howl, Stoppit's gibbering and I Said No's furious roaring), while Terry Wogan narrated what was going on for the viewer. Most of the time, characters exhibited habits in accordance with their name - Tidyup liked to keep everything neat, Go and Play was often seen playing with toys, Go to Bed was perpetually tired, and so forth. There were some departures from this however - Clean Your Teeth, other than his constant grinning, had more or less nothing to do with dental hygiene at all as his main gimmick was making anything he wanted appear by clicking his fingers.

The completley bizarre nature of the episodes as well as their bright colours, exaggerated animations and strange noises makes Stoppit and Tidyup a good choice for weird, obnoxious, abstract or nihilistic poop. It has also been commented that Tidyup's bizarre moan noise, with it's volume amplified, is extremely loud and difficult to drown out.
