The anime resembles more of an American cartoon than an anime, which tends to be one of the running jokes, besides the other obvious sex jokes. P&SwG is a very peculiar show surrounding two angels who have been kicked out of heaven by God and are taken under Reverend Garterbelt, a hardcore black priest who has a huge ass afro (that can explode into peculiar substances and be used as a machine gun) who instructs them using messages from God sent to Chuck, their dog thing that resembles GIR from [[Invader Zim]] a little too well. While not having sex, eating sweets, or being lazy, Panty & Stocking go out and save Daten City from ghosts, evil beings that terrorize the town constantly. Later, Panty & Stocking meet their rivals, Scanty and Kneesocks, who are more civilized and have more rules, yet serve under Corset who is plotting to unleash the power of Hell on the city, using the crotch of a boy named Brief, who is in love with Panty despite how she acts. Scanty & Kneesocks have a Chuck counterpart named Fastener, which Chuck confronts and fights very often. This anime gained much attention and was very popular. It spawned a kick-ass soundtrack, and DVDs are being released to come in seven volumes with two episodes each. The series ended on a cliffhanger hinting there would be a second season.
