History

2012–2019

Born and raised in South Florida. Following an extended lurking phase, I opened two accounts: FredMayX2 (2009–2011) and, not even joking, XxXeoingTapaarXM265Xx (2011); the former housed horrendous Lazer Collection rips and the latter, an uncouth attempt at creating a MarbleHornets-inspired ARG series. Prior to 2011, AlvinYTP comprised the entirety of what I knew about the genre until I saw a Blue's Clues poop by AbsoluteBillion. Via the mercy of the site's recommendation algorithm at the time, a FishTitan64 video leapt from the wild into my supple 13-year-old eyeballs.

Everything that happened between that and year's end 2012 can't be adequately captured in words. I made YTP and formed the online ties that I did at a very sensitive, formative period in my life. All of the videos that I've since re-uploaded themselves reflect that period better than I can in language. Just for good measure, here's a streamed movie commentary of 'Black Devil Doll From Hell' hosted by Childhood sweetheart herself, a 14-year-old me, drdreadfuk, CreepahWeegie, and Mashu. Essentially, actual historical documents exist of this incredibly confused time in my life. I don't exactly know how to feel about. I can only describe it as a weird cocktail of mild disgust and moderate gratitude.

2019

I made my final YouTube Poop—aptly titled—early this year. This platform and this community of incredibly talented and committed people were essential to my capacity and love for audiovisual manipulation. And to say I've outgrown this subculture and the medium that forms its foundation is an exercise in tautology. The format that a YTP demands, however, and the limitations arising from the context are stifling. Rather than provide holistic commentary on the artistic or experiential value of the work itself, users will pick it apart, asking what's that effect at the 0'40" mark. At that point, I knew it was time to move on.

It's safe to categorize myself as a video artist. I'm not sure what that entails and doubt how substantively that label differs from being a YouTube Pooper, but I'm going to try it out and see what happens.
