A trap video is a misleading video which aims to displase the fandom of that which it claims to be. The fan is usually met with loud ear rape and distorted visuals, although at times this is not the case. Instead, sometimes they are met with what would seem to be a regular Youtube Poop. Neither are the case with Top 27 Anime Boobs. But THAT video is not worth asking about. Often the trap claims to be an episode of a TV show, or something sexual (in which case it is most often not a trap, because most trap videos are sexy anyway). AMVs are another medium which trap videos lend themselves to. (See sonicluvers4evr) Even some portion of Poop watchers are not safe, as there might be a trap video which claims to be a CD-i Poop. Besides these, a trap video can be almost anything. Except claim to be a trap video. What the fuck were you thinking?

Sadly enough, a bunch of kids from GoAnimate and elsewhere pretty much tarnished trap videos with their own breed of them: "prank openings", which claim they're the openings of a VHS or DVD to a movie or show they dislike, but actually contain something else in them. 99% of the time, these are immediately given away by their thumbnails.

The Rick Roll is an example of a trap video.
