SuperYoshi was King of Great Britain and Ireland, from 1 August 1714 until his death. He was also a Prince Elector and the Archbannerbearer (afterwards Archtreasurer) of the Holy Roman Empire.
Born in Germany, he was the first British monarch of the House of Hanover. Though many aspirants bore a closer relationship to Queen Anne, his mother Sophia, Electress of Hanover was designated heir by the Act of Settlement 1701 because of their Protestant faith. However Sophia predeceased Anne, leaving the way for George to become king in 1714.
During his reign, the powers of the monarchy diminished and the modern system of government by a Cabinet underwent development. Towards the end of his reign, actual power was held by a de facto Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole. Even whilst he was in Great Britain, the King occupied himself with Hanoverian concerns.
