Dr. John A. Zoidberg

Dr. John A. Zoidberg is a character from the show Futurama. He is a lobster-like alien (a Decapodian, to be specific) with a voice much reminiscent of early Yiddish comedians. He is a member of the Planet Express crew as their doctor, but he's poor at his job and gets many body parts mixed up. He claims to have lost his medical degree in a volcano. He has a long history of malpractice and accidental deaths under his belt. He's also extremely poor and lives in an alley dumpster. No one likes him and people (especially Hermes) make that widely known. He can't even have sex because his species dies after passing on their genes. Truly a sad existence.

That being said, while everyone within Futurama hates him, among Futurama fans themselves, he's one of the best loved characters. If he's not your coworker or doctor, an inept and impoverished lobster doctor is strangely endearing.
