Futurama is an animated television show that takes place in the 31st century, with talking robots, interplanetary travel, and talking heads in jars of 20th century celebrities abound. The main character is Philip J. Fry, a naive but well meaning pizza delivery boy who winds up cryogenically frozen in the waning seconds of the 20th century. After he awakens, he soon befriends cyclops mutant Leela and acerbic, alcoholic robot Bender. They all find employment under Fry's distant relative Professor Farnsworth, a doddery old scientist who owns the Planet Express interplanetary delivery company. Fry is a delivery boy once more, but in much more exciting and eventful circumstances.
