The Gabrielpika Cup was a tournament in development that uses a format of a standard 1v1 tourney with single elimination bracket of 36 players. The tournament was managed and hosted by LopunnyBoy.
Development[edit]
LopunnyBoy came up with his idea of a tournament as early as 2011 after seeing the tournaments like the 3-way tournament and still in his early stages of doing tennis matches against himself. He wished to have a tournament of his own. 4 years later he created an unofficial tournament called The Gabrielpika Cup having 100 players participating in the tourney and the source limit had to be LopunnyBoy's self matches with 18 sets. When he pitched it to the tennis staff they had suggestions of changes of the tournament shorting the amount to 36 players. LopunnyBoy realizes that it's mostly impossible to get the tournament be prepared so he then later closed it. However he reopened it later on but it went inactive as LopunnyBoy joined the official tournaments like the Match Voting Tournament, and the Doubles Cup III.
As of October 2019, the tournament was rebooted into a new "top-secret" tourney and will be redeveloped by near the future.
Format and Rules[edit]
Format[edit]
- 36 players fight on a single-bracket that won't be randomized (excepted for the first Set of course), the bracket will be established when we'll get all the required players and few days before its official start (Have a look at the picture above).
- There will also be a 3th,4th,and 5th place playoff.
- At each Set, the participants who shall make the serves will be randomly decided.
- Starting from the semifinals, the person who'll have to make the serve will be decided this way : if both players either did or didn't serve for their previous respective matches, the person who'll have to serve will be randomly designed. If one of the player did serve for their previous match and the other player didn't, then the player who didn't will have to serve this time.
Rules[edit]
- 6 rounds per Match in 18 Sets
- 8 rounds for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th place match and the Final match
- Time limit = No Time limit
- Video length = 30 seconds to 14 minutes
- Source limit: Your required to use LopunnyBoy's videos as a source, however you can add any other sources.
