There was time in the scratch video universe where two factions declared war with each other. Both of their leaders were bent on ruling the known galaxy of the scratch video universe through brute force, deceit, and peacemaking. The war was massive, epic, lengthy, and sometimes boring.
It was A FICTIONAL WAR.
This was perhaps the greatest war not known to anyone in the world of scratch videos. It was a war between the quasi-insane Mama Luigi Confederacy and the naturally-evil Robotnik Empire. It was a war spanning thousands of planets and inside jokes. It was a war that exhausted many natural resources too quickly - leaving the known scratch video universe in a state of peril and dysfunction.
Needless to say, it would be long before someone would emerge triumphant.
The Beginning
2491 to 20Xtooty-too - The Rise of the Mama Luigi Confederacy
Mama Luigi
On the planet of Super Mario World, archaeologist/plumber's crack Luigi Mario recently discovered a new type of species: it was named Yoshi for the sound the creature made when it took a dump. The dinosaur-thing called his founder "Mama Luigi".
After countless perils and a kidnapped Princess Peach, Luigi met up with his brother Mario in the middle of nowhere. Mario was rather surprised to see the dinosaur, who greeted him with a friendly tongue slobber with suspiciously white drool.
Mario, after being separated from Luigi, learned about the whereabouts of Princess Peach. She was being held captive at the underground district of Koopa's Coney Island Disco Palace. The brothers teamed up along with Yoshi to save the damsel in distress.
However, the lack of coordination between Yoshi and his mama proved to botch the rescue mission - though they confronted King Koopa, they barely defeated him before he escaped with "the key" - the key to Princess Peach's whereabouts.
It was then that the Disco Palace started to collapse and a humongous 2.5D Doomship emerged from the ground. Mario, Luigi and Yoshi barely escaped with their lives just as the Disco Palace fell apart, and the Doomship suddenly started to fire all manner of projectiles at the trio. Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi fled to safety back to Dinosaur World, but at the cost of losing the chance to rescue Princess Peach.
Interlude
For a few weeks Luigi raised the little dinosaur as he would a child, teaching him proper manners, all sorts of plumber tricks, and other whatthefuckery of the like. Meanwhile, Mario was busy formulating a plan to track down King Koopa's location and locate the whereabouts of the Princess.
Five weeks had passed, and strangely enough Yoshi had grown into a full-fledged adult...Yoshi. He also developed the uncanny metabolism that fuels all Yoshis - the drive to eat, eat, and take a dump in quick succession.
The fully-grown Yoshi was vital from Mario and Luigi's plan - the brothers took him through a special warp zone leading to the Star World, where Yoshi gathered his first pair of wings, wings powerful enough to take him to the current location of the 2.5D Doomship - in the middle of the ocean.
Upon reaching the Doomship they realized it had been abandoned and that many of its occupants were long dead. King Koopa was found in his Captain's Quarters eating the brains of one of his Koopa minions.
