The Star Fox series is a series of space combat games that stars the Star Fox team, who are trying to stop Andross' evil deeds.
The original game was praised for its innovation with 3D polygons, as well as its fun gameplay, while the N64 game was praised for the same great gameplay, as well as actual voice acting and a bunch of amazing crap. The rest of the series doesn't have as much going for it...aside from the addition of Krystal.
There was also a (formerly) unreleased Star Fox 2 for Super Famicom/SNES, that will finally be released in 2017 on the SNES Mini.
