Super Emeralds

In addition, there are also bigger and more powerful emeralds called Super Emeralds. They appear in Sonic 3 after collecting regular emeralds. Tails also needs these to reach his super form, or as many fans call it, God. With it, they can transform into a rapidly glowing hyper form, but if Tails gets them, he has a godly form where a group of invincible birds attack anything near him. They only appear in Sonic 3 and no where else.
