After that, he retired in his early 50's with his life partner. However, due to his alcoholism, he ended up losing everything and became homeless. Tyree resorted to hustling pool in dive bars of Ventura, CA in order to feed his alcoholism. One night, Tyree met Giuseppe Andrews after getting kicked out from a bar and gave him an opportunity to become an actor. Tyree took this opportunity without hesitation, saying that "Acting is my plant and I must water it!" Tyree then went on to act in Giuseppe's line of experimental, outsider films and he even ended up acting in a B-movie comedy film "Homo Erectus". His fate was not entirely known but he was rumored to be dead.
